How to use Cistus essential oil?

Oral route: no

On the skin:

1 drop applied with a cotton swab in the nose quickly stops the bleeding.

1 to 2 pure drops on cuts, abrasions associated with 2 drops of true lavender. It will be very useful to breastfeeding mothers to quickly heal the ends of damaged breasts. Add a little sweet almond oil and 1 drop of Lavender with Cistus. AFTER feeding.

What is Cistus essential oil?

Originating mainly from Spain and around the Mediterranean, cistus are shrubs which have a predilection for dry (generally siliceous but also calcareous) and sunny soils. They also have the particularity of regenerating easily and even multiplying after fires. This explains why the Mediterranean maquis and scrublands, so often affected by forest fires, are covered with cistaias which flower between spring and summer (April – June).

A little history

Its name comes from the Greek “kiste” which means “capsule”, in reference to the shape of its fruit. Highly prized in Antiquity for its amber scent and its many virtues, cistus was used in certain religious rituals and for the preparation of medicinal ointments or ointments. Its gum, labdanum, was part of the composition of the sacred essences of ancient Egypt with incense, cedar, myrrh and benzoin.
