Marigold flowers have the particularity of closing at night and reopening as soon as the sun is high enough in the sky. This is also what earned it its name worry , which has nothing to do with our daily worries but comes from the Latin solsequia (= which follows the sun). Its Latin name seems linked to the calends (first day of the month among the Romans), perhaps to emphasize the fact that it flowers all year round. The marigold is between 40 and 70 cm high depending on the variety.

The infusion of marigold flowers in herbalism is recommended as a regulator of periods in women. It is also used to soften internal and external inflammations. Marigold is an excellent anti-oxidant.
