What is Melissa infusion?

Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is a perennial herb belonging to the mint family. It is native to the Mediterranean region but is now cultivated throughout the world. The plant can reach a height of 50 to 70 cm and has dark green, heart-shaped leaves and white or pink flowers that bloom in summer. Lemon balm leaves are often used to prepare herbal teas, essential oils and extracts, due to their medicinal properties and sweet, lemony aroma.

How to use organic lemon balm leaves for infusion?

Ingredients :

  • 1 teaspoon of dried organic lemon balm leaves or 3 to 4 fresh lemon balm leaves
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions :

  1. In a cup, add a teaspoon of dried organic lemon balm leaves or 3 to 4 fresh lemon balm leaves.
  2. Pour a cup of boiling water over the lemon balm leaves.
  3. Cover the cup with a lid or plate to prevent the essential oils from evaporating.
  4. Let it steep for about 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Remove the lemon balm leaves with a strainer or teaspoon.
  6. You can drink your lemon balm infusion hot or let it cool and drink it cold.

It is recommended not to exceed 3 cups of lemon balm infusion per day. You can also add honey or lemon to improve the taste of your lemon balm infusion.
