Why use organic Bergamot from Dr.Valnet?

Light calming. Digestive stimulant

Description

Italian or Turkish, the mystery persists as to the exact origin of the bergamot tree, halfway between the bitter orange tree and the lemon tree. It is one of the components of Eau de Cologne and perfumes the famous bergamots.

Bergamot essential oil has calming and balancing properties. Its delicate fragrance offers a most elegant olfactory setting and its subtle flavor will flavor your most refined dishes.

Precautions for use:

Very not recommended for external use on the skin because it is very photosensitizing and causes the appearance of oxidative spots on the skin. It can irritate in its pure state.

What is Organic Bergamot essential oil?

Citrus bergamia

(Rutaceae family)

Some notions of botany

The bergamot tree is close to the bitter orange tree (bitter orange), but its exact origins are uncertain. It would come either from the cross between a bitter orange tree and a lime tree (lime), or between a bitter orange tree and a lemon tree. Bergamot is a small citrus fruit that resembles a lemon with a thick, yellow-green skin, and weighs between 80 and 200 grams. Its flesh is slightly acidic and bitter and its zest diffuses a very characteristic powerful scent.

Since the 18th century, the bergamot tree has been mainly cultivated in a province of Italy which extends from Reggio Calabria on the Strait of Messina to the Ionian Sea. Little used in food form, bergamot is quite difficult to find on the markets.

A little history…

Some claim that the bergamot tree came from the Orient and was introduced to Europe by the Crusaders. Its name would then come from the Turkish Bey armade (pear of the lord), because of its particular shape. Others think that it was brought from the Canary Islands by Christopher Columbus, and that its name comes from the town of Berga, north of Barcelona.

Fresh and very floral, bergamot is one of the most used products in perfumery, particularly in eau de Cologne. It is still found, among others, in the composition of Guerlain's Eau de Cologne Impériale, created for Empress Eugénie.
