Valerian root has always been known for its calming and anti-nervousness effects, to facilitate falling asleep, followed by restorative and peaceful sleep.
However, like most commonly used plants, valerian does not have a "sleeping" effect and can therefore be taken during the day, even to drive or take an exam. On the contrary, it will facilitate concentration, maintaining calm in the mind and mental serenity.
To try to explain the diversity of symptoms that it can help to treat, we should look into its properties specific to helping the individual find the right distance between themselves and their emotions. Valerian helps you to be wide awake when you are awake, to act in full awareness, but thus to fall asleep more easily when it's time to sleep.
Its particular aroma puts it at a disadvantage. It is advantageously mixed with passionflower, hawthorn, lemon verbena and lemon balm.
NOTE: Some people may experience “adverse” effects when taking valerian. These people will then turn to passionflower, hawthorn, eschcholtzia!

Manual
Prepare an infusion decoction. Boil 1 tablespoon of valerian roots for 3 to 4 minutes for 1 cup. Then infuse for 5 minutes.
Drink 1 to 3 cups per day, between meals, in the evening.
A fairly “bitter” herbal tea. To soften the taste, add a few leaves of lemon verbena or lemon balm to the infusion (without boiling).
For pregnant and breastfeeding women, seek advice from a doctor. It is recommended to respect the recommended doses, to ensure that you have a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of young children.
