Caraway (Carum carvi L.):
The plant's seeds are used, both as a supplement and in food. Antispasmodic, stimulant, and carminative (expulsion and reduction of gas), it is used in cases of loss of appetite, gastric spasms, nervous dyspepsia, aerophagia, and meteorism.

Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.):
The part used is the fruit; it is stomachic and carminative. It is used for digestive disorders such as slow digestion, bloating, flatulence, and spasms. Contains vitamin K, so be careful if taking anticoagulants (AVK) (vitamin K1 promotes blood clotting).

Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare):
The part used is the fruit; it is carminative and stimulates stomach motility. It is used for bloating, gastralgia, and flatulence.

Green Anise (Pimpinella anisum):
The ripe seed is used. It is antispasmodic, stomachic, and carminative. It is used to promote digestion, against intestinal gas, and as an antispasmodic.

Bromelain / Papain:
Bromelain is a complex of proteolytic enzymes. Its applications are numerous: for digestion, as an anti-inflammatory, against swelling and redness (the only property proven by health authorities and available as the drug Extranase®, classified as enzyme therapy for anti-edema purposes), to potentiate antibiotics, etc. For the situation that concerns us, it has the ability to digest proteins and facilitate their absorption, and to prevent large protein fragments from causing damage, for example by weakening the mucous membrane, or by creating too much putrefaction in the left colon, which causes bloating and pain.

Papain is also a proteolytic enzyme; however, it is much less documented than its friend bromelain. Indeed, its proteolytic action is not to be questioned, but the lack of clinical results means that it is absolutely not recognized except for traditional use. However, some small-scale studies have shown its various properties for improving digestion.

Lactobacillus acidophilus:
Lactobacillus acidophilus is a probiotic bacterium; it is useful in cases of inflammation, protecting the mucous membrane, and preventing dysbiosis. Furthermore, it attenuates the symptoms due to lactose digestion in intolerant people.
