Organic Traditional Ginger Concentrate — Lime, Mint, and Cane Sugar, 25cl or 50cl

The invigorating drink with tropical roots featuring the Awa-ouh! Organic Traditional Ginger Concentrate: an artisanal preparation made from concentrated fresh ginger, lime, cane sugar, and mint from Touraine. Refreshing in summer, warming in winter, and a digestive aid all year round. 100% organic, handcrafted in Touraine. A concentrate to be diluted according to your taste.

Why include this ginger concentrate in your daily routine?

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) owes its properties to its gingerols and shogaols, bioactive phenolic compounds that act on several physiological systems. Gingerols inhibit the pro-inflammatory COX-2 and LOX enzymes—a natural anti-inflammatory action comparable to NSAIDs but without their gastrointestinal side effects. Shogaols, formed during drying or cooking, are particularly active on 5-HT3 receptors (antiemetic)—which is why ginger is the gold standard for natural antiemetics. Lime provides vitamin C and flavonoids, which enhance the anti-inflammatory effects of ginger through their complementary antioxidant action. Mint from Touraine adds its carminative and digestive menthol. This combination forms a synergistic concentrate for digestion and vitality.

Benefits of Organic Traditional Ginger Concentrate

  • Complete digestive support: Gingerols stimulate gastric motility and accelerate stomach emptying, reducing bloating and post-meal heaviness. Mint relaxes the lower esophageal sphincter and reduces intestinal spasms. Ideal after heavy meals or during digestive tension.
  • Gold standard natural antiemetic: Ginger's shogaols act on 5-HT3 receptors and block nausea signals in the brainstem. Effective for motion sickness, pregnancy nausea (first trimester), and the morning after dietary excesses. Use diluted in warm water at the first sign of nausea.
  • Natural energy and winter warmer: Ginger is a powerful circulatory stimulant that boosts thermogenesis—it activates TRPV1 receptors (heat thermoreceptors) for a lasting sensation of internal warmth. As a hot drink in winter, it warms from the inside and tones the body against the cold.
  • Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory: The combination of gingerols + lime vitamin C + flavonoids creates a natural antioxidant cocktail that supports cellular defenses and reduces chronic oxidative stress.

Precautions and contraindications

  • Anticoagulants: Ginger has natural anticoagulant properties (inhibition of platelet aggregation). Avoid in high doses if taking anticoagulant treatment (warfarin, heparin) or before surgery.
  • Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD): In high doses, ginger can aggravate GERD in very sensitive individuals. Dilute more if discomfort occurs.
  • Gallstones: Ginger stimulates bile secretion — avoid if you have known gallstones.
