Zero'cholesto, developed by SFB Laboratories, is a natural dietary supplement containing a synergy of red yeast rice extract (Monascus purpureus) and CoQ10. The product comes in a box of 30 tablets.
1 tablet provides 600mg of red yeast rice (Monascus Purpureus) at 1.6% Monacolin, including 9.5mg of Monacolin K.
The benefits of red yeast rice
Red yeast rice has been used in Chinese medicine for hundreds of years. It was found in Asian cuisine as a flavoring and coloring agent, and as a dietary supplement. It still holds a prominent place in the Asian diet.
Red yeast rice is the result of the fermentation of a microscopic medicinal fungus that is red in color and found on rice: Monascus purpureus. The fungi are cultivated on the rice, the fermentation is carried out (it is during this phase that the fungus will secrete the red pigments), the rice and the fungus are dried, in order to be able to grind them to obtain a powder. The main active ingredients of red yeast rice are:
- Monacolins: monacolin K, isoflavones, phytosterols and unsaturated fatty acids which are natural statins.
- Sterols and monounsaturated fatty acids

Red yeast rice is combined with CoQ10 to limit the side effects of statins, even natural ones. The coating is gastro-resistant for optimal absorption of the active ingredients. The product contains no added sugars, sweeteners, flavors, nanotechnology, or flavor enhancers.
