Organic Guarana Warana Powder -- Natural Amazonian Stimulant with Progressive Guaranine

Are you looking for an organic natural stimulant with an effect that is gentler and more gradual than coffee, supporting energy, alertness, and concentration without the spikes and crashes of soluble caffeine? Guayapi Organic Guarana Warana Powder is an organic and fair-trade Amazonian guarana (Paullinia cupana), harvested and processed according to the traditional methods of the Satere-Mawe people. Guaranine (natural guarana caffeine) is bound to tannins that slow its release and prolong its effects. Certified organic and fair-trade. Guayapi, pioneer of Amazonian superfoods since 1990.

The benefits of Guayapi organic Guarana Warana

  • Slow-release guaranine: in natural guarana, caffeine is bound to tannins that form a macromolecular complex slowing its absorption. The stimulating effect is gradual and long-lasting (4 to 6 hours) rather than sudden and short-lived like soluble coffee.
  • Traditional Satere-Mawe preparation: Guayapi sources directly from the Satere-Mawe people of the Brazilian Amazon, guardians of the knowledge of warana (the indigenous name for guarana). The seed is roasted over a wood fire and ground according to ancestral methods.
  • Certified organic and fair-trade: complete traceability, fair prices for producers, respect for the forest.
  • Rich in tannins and xanthines: guarana contains theobromine and theophylline in addition to caffeine, three xanthines with complementary effects on alertness and concentration.
  • Versatile powder format: dilutes in all beverages.

Guarana and its active ingredients

Guaranine (natural caffeine bound to tannins)

Natural guarana contains 2 to 5% caffeine (guaranine), a higher concentration than coffee (1-2%). But unlike coffee, guaranine is naturally associated with tannins (tannic acid), which form a slow-digesting complex. This tannin-guaranine complex delays intestinal absorption and releases caffeine gradually over 4 to 6 hours, avoiding the sudden peak and rapid drop characteristic of coffee. This pharmacokinetic peculiarity is the major advantage of guarana over pure caffeine or soluble coffee.

Theobromine and theophylline

Two other methylxanthines present in small quantities in guarana. Theobromine (also found in cocoa) has mild bronchodilator and cardiovascular effects. Theophylline contributes to muscle relaxation in the respiratory tract. Their complementary presence to guaranine contributes to the overall energizing profile of guarana.

Tannins and polyphenols

The tannins in guarana do not just serve to delay caffeine absorption. They also have antioxidant and astringent properties and contribute to the characteristic slightly bitter taste of natural guarana.

FAQ

Is guarana stronger than coffee?
It contains more caffeine per gram than coffee, but its absorption is much slower thanks to the tannins. The effect felt is therefore less sudden but longer-lasting. A direct comparison is not simple because the pharmacokinetic profiles are very different.

Can you combine guarana and coffee?
Not recommended without monitoring total caffeine intake. If you already consume coffee, calculate your total caffeine intake so as not to exceed recommended limits (400mg/day for a healthy adult according to the EFSA).

What is the difference between the powder and the Guayapi Warana capsules?
The composition is identical. The powder is diluted in a drink for a more gradual and flexible integration. The capsules offer precise dosing and are more convenient for travel.
