Why use Dermidéal Solaire?

Skin preparation before sun exposure relies on two mechanisms: increasing natural photoprotective pigments (melanin, carotenoids) and providing antioxidant protection against free radicals generated by UV rays. Dermidéal Solaire addresses both of these mechanisms through urucum (bixin, a precursor to melanin), pomegranate polyphenols (Pomanox®), and purple carrot. It does not replace suitable topical sun protection, but complements it from the inside.

Brazilian urucum (Bixa orellana, 300 mg, including 3 mg bixin) is the most concentrated source of bixin in the world. Bixin is a carotenoid that stimulates melanogenesis (melanin production) in melanocytes, preparing the skin for a more even and faster tan.

Dermal antioxidant protection against UV rays

Pomanox® (patented pomegranate extract, 130 mg, including 40 mg punicalagins) is the most powerful polyphenolic antioxidant known. Punicalagins neutralize free radicals generated by UV rays (ROS) and protect dermal collagen and elastin from photo-induced degradation. The natural vitamin C from acerola (40 mg) completes this antioxidant protection.

Skin radiance and protection

Purple carrot (140 mg, rich in anthocyanins and beta-carotene) provides natural pigments that improve complexion radiance and strengthen the overall antioxidant protection of skin exposed to the sun.
