Why is the combination of babassu and castor optimal for very dry hair?

Babassu oil (Orbignya oleifera), due to its lauric fraction (~50%), penetrates through the cuticle scales to fill the gaps in the hair cortex in depth. This penetration reduces the hair's porosity and allows it to retain natural hydration. Castor oil (Ricinus communis), thanks to its long-chain hydroxylated ricinoleic acids, remains on the surface of the fiber and forms a natural sheathing film that provides shine, mechanical resistance, and protection against external aggressions (UV, pollution, heat). The combination of the two creates a dual effect: internal nourishment (babassu) + external protection (castor). Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables complete this dual effect with their squalenes and phytosterols, pro-cuticular lipids that restore the natural hydrophobic surface of hair damaged by chemical treatments.
