What are Stinging Nettle leaves?

Stinging nettle, or Urtica dioica as it is known in Latin, is a common plant in France that can be found almost everywhere.

Nettles grow almost everywhere, near houses, in gardens or ditches, and are 60 to 120 cm tall. They are recognized by their green, pointed, serrated leaves, covered with stinging hairs, which are hard and cone-shaped. Their tip breaks when touched, releasing a liquid that notably contains formic acid and histamine, which are irritating to the skin.

It contains: in the leaves, anti-inflammatory compounds, antioxidant flavonoids, numerous minerals, detoxifying chlorophyll, and interesting nutrients: plant proteins or vitamins.
