What is Stinging Nettle?
Stinging nettle, or Urtica dioica as it is known in Latin, is a common plant in France that can be found almost everywhere.
Nettle grows almost everywhere, near houses, in gardens or ditches, and measures 60 to 120 cm high. It is recognized by its green, pointed and serrated leaves, covered with stinging, hard and cone-shaped hairs. Their tip breaks when touched, releasing a liquid containing formic acid and histamine, which are irritating to the skin.
