What is Vit'all+ AHCC®?

AHCC® (Active Hexose Correlated Compound) is a patented extract of Shiitake mycelium (Lentinus edodes), obtained through a long-term fermentation process in a liquid medium. During this fermentation, enzymes hydrolyze certain polysaccharides into low molecular weight alpha-1,4-glucans (less than 5 kDa), which are highly bioavailable and have superior immunomodulatory activity compared to conventional beta-glucans. AHCC® vs. beta-glucans: why alpha-glucans are different

Low molecular weight alpha-glucans: unique bioavailability

Conventional beta-glucans (from yeast or whole mushrooms) have a high molecular weight (greater than 100 kDa), which limits their intestinal absorption. The alpha-1,4-glucans in AHCC® are produced by enzymatic hydrolysis and have a very low molecular weight (less than 5 kDa), allowing them to be directly absorbed by the intestine.

Activation of NK cells and macrophages

Clinical studies have shown that AHCC® can significantly increase the activity of NK (Natural Killer) cells—the sentinels of innate immunity—as well as macrophage activity and cytokine production, both in healthy subjects and in pathological contexts.
