Corossol Graviola from Vit'all+, what is it?
Soursop graviola is a fruit from a fruit tree in the Anonaceae family. It grows in limestone and dry soils, preferring warm climates and areas sheltered from the wind. In summer, the tree flowers and can reach a maximum height of ten meters. The fruit has a characteristic appearance, with a green bark pricked with small thorns. Inside, its pulpy white flesh contains inedible black seeds. Also called soursop or "soursop fruit", graviola is native to the Antilles and tropical America. Its taste is both tangy and fruity, similar to that of mango or lychee with floral, exotic, fresh and persistent aromas. Its texture is similar to that of rhubarb or jackfruit.
The flesh of the fruit is composed mainly of water (80%), carbohydrates (18%), proteins (1%) and nutrients, including vitamins C, B1 and B2, as well as mineral salts such as potassium, iron and phosphorus. It also contains dietary fiber.
