Lutein and Zeaxanthin: the carotenoids of the macula

Lutein and Zeaxanthin are the carotenoids present in the macula, the central area of the retina. They constitute the macular pigment. The body cannot synthesize them and must obtain them through diet or supplementation.

Finnish Bilberry: a source of anthocyanins

Wild Finnish Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) is one of the most concentrated sources of anthocyanins, blue-violet pigments. The extract used (100:1 ratio, 32% anthocyanins) is standardized for its anthocyanin content and traced to its Finnish origin.
