Description of L-Glutamine?

What is L-glutamine?

Glutamine is one of 20 naturally occurring amino acids. Like other amino acids, glutamine plays an important biochemical role as a constituent of proteins.

High concentrations of glutamine are found in muscles which use it more during intense physical exercise. Glutamine is essential for the production of glycogen.

Glutamine is also a precursor of the neurotransmitters gamma-amino-butyric acid (GABA) and glutamic acid. That is, the body synthesizes GABA and glutamate, antagonistic and regulatory brain neurotransmitters, from glutamine.
