What is Vit'all+ PEA 400mg OptiPEA®?

PEA (Palmitoylethanolamide) is a functional lipid naturally produced by the body, belonging to the class of fatty acid amides. It is naturally present in many foods (egg yolk, breast milk, soy, peanuts). PEA was initially studied in the 1950s by Professor Rita Levi-Montalcini (1986 Nobel Prize winner) for its modulating properties on the inflammatory response. Vit'all+ PEA is provided in the OptiPEA® form: a patented, micronized, and water-dispersible form developed to overcome the poor absorption of conventional PEA (which is highly lipophilic). Mechanism of action: PPAR-alpha and the endocannabinoid system

PEA exerts its action primarily through the activation of PPAR-alpha receptors (peroxisome proliferator-activated alpha nuclear receptors), which regulate the expression of many genes involved in the inflammatory response. It also interacts with CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors, thereby indirectly modulating the endocannabinoid pathway without any psychoactive effect.

Conventional PEA is a highly hydrophobic lipid, whose oral absorption is limited by its low solubility. OptiPEA® is a patented micronized form that reduces PEA particles to a micrometric scale and makes them water-dispersible, significantly improving oral bioavailability.
